What is oral candidiasis?

Oral candidiasis, commonly known as thrush, is a fungal infection in the mouth caused by Candida yeast. Symptoms include white patches on the tongue and inside the cheeks, soreness, and difficulty swallowing. It is often seen in individuals with weakened immune systems.
