Dr. Craig Tifford, MD

You will find Dr. Tifford to be a very knowledgeable, direct surgeon.  He lays out your options but does not pressure you to the surgical route. He repaired my wife's miniscule knee tear successfully & she is almost 100% after 5 weeks. He is one of the few patient centered surgeons I have met @

Genuine guy who gets down to case of finding what it is. Gets serious when he needs to and makes everything clear and wants you to make sure of all possible types of outcomes. Seeing how he worked, among others, was another motive to pursue medicine. In essence, this talented orthopedic surgeon knows how to react and display appropriate emotion at all times. 11/10. More impressive how he works in Yale Stamford  then performs surgeries in Greenwich Hospital. probably does tons of things on side 

Wonderful experience with Dr. Tifford. He was very easy to talk to, spent a lot of time with me and I felt like he was actually listening to what I had to say. I highly recommend him!

Dr Tifford repaired a full tear of my rotator cuff with fantastic results! This shoulder now seems stronger than my other one. It did not come without a long rehab process but I am back in the gym and doing push ups with no problems. I have full range of motion. I cannot express how grateful I am and fortunate to have had Dr Tifford do this surgery.

Dr. Tifford reconstructed my ACL. I was very nervous to have surgery and was especially dreading the recovery stage. Thankfully he was extremely easy to talk to, compassionate and reassuring. Everything  went PERFECTLY and I was able to get back to my activities in no time!  

My experience with Dr. Tifford excelled all my expectations. I would highly recommend him to my family and friends. He is the most professional, kind and knowledgeable doctor I have ever met.

Dr. Tifford operated on my right shoulder and the experience was nothing less than amazing.  I had my other shoulder previously operated on at a very well known NYC Orthopedic Hospital and my experience with Dr. Tifford and his staff was far superior.  I am thrilled with my new shoulder and I am back to playing tennis, golf and swimming like nothing ever happened.

I have seen Dr. Tifford several times over the last couple of years after seeing two other Orthopedic Surgeons for a complex knee issue.  I found him to be attentive, responsive to my questions and concerns and felt extremely confident in his ability to care for me.  I would recommend him without reservation to anyone looking for an Orthopedic Surgeon.

Couldn't remember my name even after surgery. Left stitches in my meniscus (knee) which greatly extended my recovery time, yet recommended pt for a standard meniscus trimming. I wasn't even aware that he sowed it back together until the stitches popped and I had to get a second surgery. It wasn't until the second surgery that the new surgeon told me there were stiches in my meniscus.  Long story short, don't trust him.



I'd give the doctor an A+
He was quick, accurate, decisive,personable and a good listener.

The girls at check in were friendly and quick. There was hardly and wait from check in to x-ray to seeing Dr Tifford. I never felt rushed. Dr. Tifford took his time diagnosing me and made the effort to be sure I understood everything that was going on with me. I would recommend him and this office to all.

Prompt, friendly staff. Dr. Tifford was straightforward, matter-of-fact, and helpful. 

Dr. Tifford inspires confidence right off the bat.  He was very thorough and explained my options with clarity.  Looking forward to continuing to work with him on my knee.

The staff is very friendly and warm, still proffesional; Dr Tifford very thorough, and made extra effort to be sure I understood what the problem was, and why.  Very happy with the care received, as well as the way the entire staff, from sign in until leaving, made me feel comfortable.

Doctor Tifford is high energy which I love. He came in full of energy was completely attentive when I explained the reason I was there. He was charismatic and patient (answered all my questions and what if scenarios...). He addressed my concerns before I even presented them. I will definitely be back.

I called because I was in the ER a few days before and they fit me in right away, the doctor was very helpful and we made a plan to fix the pain I am having, he really explained what was going on and how I feel more at ease.

Helpful. This was a follow-up to previous visits after receiving a cortizone injection which was very helpful, but due to the serenity of my injury, unfortunately, not perfect. Ill contact Dr. Tifford again if my condition worsens.

Dr. Tifford is knowledgeable, professional and efficient. It is always simple to have my questions answered and he is easy to deal with all around. 

Visited Dr. Tifford because I have recurring knee pain.  He did xrays, said my knees looked fine, yet signed me up for PT anyway.  I also mentioned something is up with my shoulder, it pops and a masseuse has mentioned it could be aggravating an issue I have in my back.  However, it does not hurt (my back does).  He said well if it doesn't hurt, let it be.  Sent me on my way, I was charged $575 for this...  Waste of time

Dr Gifford treated a pained shoulder. Thorough, caring, professional.  Highly recommend.

Great doctor! I went to see him at Greenwich Hospital (affiliate of Yale New Haven Health). In Stamfore. The hospital'a facilities are superb too!

Dr. Tifford is a great doctor. I really appreciate that he asked me what I thought the best approach to my treatment was before telling me what I had to do and what he thought was best. 

Very knowledgeable and explains his diagnosis in a clear way.
His staff is very friendly and I always have been seen on time
