Dr. Debra Margulies, MD

Been seeing Dr. Margulies for years and can speak to her bedside manner being hostile and abrupt. Outside of viewing what’s on blood results, she does not thoroughly explore what else could be going on and gaslights what symptoms you’re experieMcIntyre. Today she inferred I was lying that I couldn’t get an appointment with an endocrinologist closer to home until next year. You leave your appointment feeling terrible and like none of the symptoms you’ve been having have been taken seriously. I’m getting a second opinion and will not be seeing her again. It’s a horrendous experience and seeing other reviews it sounds like this is her overall approach. 

My mother had a biopsy of her thyroid today.  At first I thought it was me thinking that Dr Margulies was not friendly. My mom was very scared and was very open about that.  Dr Margulies did nothing to comfort her including she did not offer any form of lidocaine or aids to help with pain. I myself work in the medical field and have to say this was probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a doctor.  She minimized the procedure and any information she offered was very cut and dry.  I would not recommend her at all.  Very disappointing as the rest of the practice has been wonderful.  

I made an appointment for my daughter who was diagnosed with an endocrine disorder by her primary care physician. We specifically chose to make the appointment with Dr. Margulies because she was recommended and my daughter was confident that she could help her with her symptoms. The appointment was made for the summer, the only time that she is home from college which is in the midwest. As the appointment approached, we got a message that her appointment was canceled and when I called, I discovered that the reason was because "the doctor has made the decision to only see patients already diagnosed with thyroid disease." Instead, we were offered appointments with more inexperienced doctors my daughter has no interest in seeing. When I requested the other doctor with plenty of experienced, Dr. Nevin, we were told she's too booked up. Now we are left with trying to find someone for next summer. This office needs some professionalism and ethics. Not at all impressed. 

Did not particularly care about complaints arising from her changes in meds. Goes by blood work not by symptoms

We moved to New Jersey about a year ago.  After seeing an excellent New York endocrinologist for over eight years, my wife and I started seeing Dr. Margulies for thyroid and diabetes, respectively.  Dr. Margulies is thorough, patient and caring and does an excellent job explaining her diagnoses and recommendations.

I called a few times to ask about updates regarding lab work and I was met with a rude unprofessional attitude. Her MA shouldn't be working as an MA period. 

Dr. Margulies is always on time, very thorough, and takes the time to explain options clearly if there is an issue.

Dr. M.  changed meds and did not fully explain the side effects of the meds .  The fact that I might experience dehydration especially since I did work out doors was not a good omission.  The one drug affected the kidney function and then I ended up going to a nephrologist who found my kidney function had declined with the new drugs .  I ended up back on my previous meds - I am not sure what she hoped to attain , the AIC improved on the old meds.
