Dr. John Pahira, MD

Dr. Pahira is excellent. He operated on and treats my husband. He has been consistently respectful, informative, and patient with us.  He's a gem!

I would give Dr. Pahira ZERO star.  He referred me to see unethical surgeon named Dr. McGeagh he advised me to have surgery but he informed only pro but not risks.  I have suffered alot of pain after surgery.  Dr. Pahira never condemn his referred surgery and continue to charge me for the follow up.  Every follow up visit, I was paying Dr. McGeagh's mistakes.  Dr. Pahira is money making doctor who has conscience on his patient.  He must be responsible for his referral doctor.  Shame 2 Dr. Pahira

Dr. Pahira was wonderful, his resident Dr. Egan was also fabulous - they were thorough, kind and made me feel very comfortable.  I am very pleased with the care I received and can't recommend them enough.

The staff was quick, attentive and I was out in and out in a half hour. Dr. was knowledgeable about my current and historical condition when he walked in-- asked relevant questions and went over directions for treatment making sure I knew what to do and when. I did not feel rushed and he made sure to answer all my questions.  

Dr. Pahira was incredibly informative and patient in explaining the procedure and the future treatment options and worked with me on the timing of both. He heard and addressed my concerns and questions. I was seen on time and never felt as if the appointment was rushed.  I am so very happy I found this practice!

I was very pleased with Dr. Pahira and his concern for my problems. 

Dr. Pahira was great!  Made you feel like you were talking with a good friend as opposed to your doctor.  I have only seen him once, but I can say I look forward to our next appointment.

 Very professional atmosphere. Obviously a very busy medical office. Care was excellent.  I initially was seen by a resident who is very well-versed in the care that I required. Excellent team medical experience. 

Everyone was so professional and courteous.  I was referred to Dr. Pahira from my nephrologist.  It was obvious he looked over all the information sent to him before meeting with me.  He explained everything well and I felt that I would receive good care.  

Dr. Pahira was very professional, very kind and understanding and very clear.  He took his time examining all the information before giving us his opinion.

I’m starting my care under Dr Pahira for treatment of kidney stone issues, and I can't recommend him highly enough. During the appointment, I was impressed by how well he had researched by condition and past medical history, his professionalism, level of engagement, knowledge, and genuine concern for my well-being!Dr Pahira painstakingly explained my condition and my blood and urine workup results, and his recommended treatment plan for ridding me of this issue, ensuring that I was well-informed and comfortable with the plan. Dr Pahira’s MO involves a strong emphasis on diet and hydration vs. medication, which I like! The information he provided me was eye-opening and educational. His expertise and knowledge of urology is evident, and I felt confident entrusting my care to him.Dr Pahira has also since fielded numerous text-messaged questions from me, and has answered them promptly, and to my satisfaction. I’m eager to try out the Pahira Secret Formula for kidney stone 'riddance'!

One of the best doctors in the country.  Kind, patient, professional, and very experienced.  I have been going to him for many years.  He has performed many procedures on me.

A bit of a cold fish. Does not seem to enjoy talking to patients--more like he endures it. I have BPH and did not have good results with the classic BPH medications. When he learned those meds weren't right for me, he didn't seem interested in pursuing the problem. Later I found out the FDA had approved Cialis for BPH, but Pahira never told me about it, even though it could have helped me. The whole experience of seeing him was a bit disappointing. He didn't provide much guidance or compassion.

This was my initial visit and I found Dr. Pahira to be thoughtful, concerned, and professional. The visit was not hurried and all of
my questions were answered.


I was very impressed and he was very nice.  I plan to send other family members to him.

Efficient office both during the appointment and at the follow-up,  Dr. Pahira and his resident listened carefully to my symptoms and made some helpful suggestions.  They helped me arrange for further testing as well.  

I was extremely grateful for Dr. Pahira's care, examination and consultation advice. I highly recommend Dr. Pahira to every person who may seek urology examination, consultations or treatment.

Unfortunately he couldn't help me, but he gave me good advice. I was disappointed as I would have liked to proceed with him, even though getting to his office in D.C. And returning to my home in VA required many agonizing hours sitting in traffic.
