Dr. Margaret Dufreney

Dr Durante was one of the doctors I saw in a group at NYU Langone. There were around 6 of them and all but two were nasty. Dr Durante stood apart from the rest, she empathized with my being a first time mom, unlike the others in the group. She explained everything to me and entertained all my questions. She went with my gut first before making a clinical diagnosis and listened to me when I said I felt my baby was breech. She down to earth and I am so lucky she was the one to deliver my son.

Absolutely AMAZING! She was not our regular OB/GYN in the practice but she had a slot to see my 17 year old daughter for a problem visit. She was compassionate, yet calmly handled a very traumatic visit for my daughter. She’s knowledgeable, she called the next morning to “see how she was doing”. Who does that anymore?  The office staff, Emily was willing to leave the phones on longer than required to take my call. I just can’t say enough about this GEM of a practice. So grateful for providers that still like to provide above and beyond. 

Please go to a different doctor. She didn't review my file and was unprepared to discuss anything, even though I had been really clear about what I needed when I made the appointment. She prescribed medication that wasn't nursing friendly. She told me she would do the bloodwork to test my thyroid but would not prescribe medication for it and she would not discuss my concerns. She ignored what I said and dismissed my symptoms. I ended up in the ER with a ruptured cyst and blood in my abdomen. 

So personable and kind. She knows her stuff and spends time with her patients!
