Dr. Merlo has gentle hands and the procedure of pulling a very bad and broken last tooth was painless. I plan to return for more work on my teeth. He is very intelligent and I trust him.

Dr. Merlo took my upper wisdom teeth out 12 years ago. I wouldn't of had anyone else take my bottoms out except for him to pervent major issues in the future. I was so nervous, and he was so great along with his nurse that helped me along the way and his front office staff. Highly reccomend.

Dr. Merlo is amazing. He's experienced, efficient, kind & I trust him completely. Been going for decades. Staff is very kind and patient.

I have been very happy with Dr. Merlo. I have had two procedures done by him with followup and I have been very pleased. He is very thorough in his explanations and very concerned with patient comfort. The staff also reflects these things. The outcomes were excellent in both cases. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a dental surgeon.

I went to visit this dr had a tooth fall out and what remained was a part of the tooth and the roots. 
This dr was referred by my dentist.  I can only say great things about this dental surgeon.  The office the nurses and receptionist were like a fine tuned instrument . They all worked together to make things right.   I have given the surgeon and staff too rating

Dr. Merlot and all his staff are very friendly, helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. I was well taken care of for my wisdom tooth surgery and everything went very smoothly.

The office is cozy and the customer service reps are pleasant and efficient. Dr. Merlo is fantastic, along with his nurse Zoila! I recommend this office and Dr. Merlo if you want superior oral or facial surgical care.

Very professional and explain plan of dental work and rational 

Both of my kids had their wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Merlo. In both cases, the office demanded that we pay the deductible up front and promised we would be refunded any overpayment after the claims settled. In one case, the office took more than 6 months to file an insurance claim and has not issued our refund of a few hundred dollars. In the other case, they filed the claim incorrectly and we continue to wait for our money. I cannot recommend this practice, even though the care provided was fine. They take no responsibility for their business practices. 

Dr. Itani and the front office staff are great. We would use this practice again for oral surgery needs. 

I did not find Dr.Merlo or his staff to be friendly. Appointment was very rushed, nothing was explained. Instead we watched a video and were given reading material. Don't recommend.

This was about taking out two teeth, bone grafting, and placing implants. 

Dr. Merlo told me that he is going to be able to do several extractions and implants in a much quicker and more efficient way than I expected.  He was clear and helpful in explaining everything.  I am delighted.  And his staff members are equally helpful and polite.  

Very good as usual. Dr Merlo and his staff are very professional and caring. I have been to him three times and would recommend him to everyone in need of oral surgery.

He lacks listening skills and applying medical knowledge to your problem. He kept talking over me, I was not allowed to explain my problems/complains and he kept saying I am imagining stuff because his medical surveys know better than my complains. I hoped for at least a good advise but I just lost my time here and I don’t think he is practicing for the sake of helping people but rather money or being forced to do it who knows. Also on my way out front desk tried to charge me $400 for his “second opinion” of my issue while he is in network with insurance and they cannot submit to my insurance his “second opinion” .. I guess that’s how they manage to make any money because I did not hear nothing useful in this appt to lead to actual treatment. 

Do not use this person.  His bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired, and I am still trying to understand if he said what he said to me because I am a Black woman.  The consultation was brisk, he hardly looked in my eyes, and it was over a month before the procedure date. Leading up to the procedure appointment, all I got were calls asking for money but no confirmation of anything that may have been needed for the actual extraction procedure. When I showed up today for the extraction, he was like where is your flipper? I was completely confused as the consultation made it seem like impressions would be done later for the crown and that the flipper was a generic item he already had. I explained there was simply a misunderstanding and Merlo just responded "well that's your fault, I've been doing this a long time and this has only happened twice."
So the miscommunication has in fact happened before. It's not just me. I let the doctor know as a point of feedback, that his bedside manner was a bit cold given this appointment was for the extraction of a tooth in the front of my face and it's a bit traumatic. So much so he had given men and I had taken anxiety meds!!! What was his response? "Go somewhere else! I don't need this. I don't need criticism from you."  The worst part of his tirade was his final missive of "I DON'T NEED CRITICISM FROM THE LIKES OF YOU!"  All while raising his voice to a teary-eyed scared me, and his nursing staff apologizing profusely to me. 
It was the WORST dental experience of my life. I would never recommend anyone use this service. This doctor needs stress management and maybe some unconscious bias training. The likes of me??  I am a Black female attorney and I deserve to not be yelled at by a rude dentist over reasonable misunderstandings. 

Find another dentist for your procedure. No one needs that fragile ego and rude energy as part of any healthcare service. He was so disrespectful and unprofessional.

As a senior citizen it was very concerning when I was told that I had a pathology issue.  Dr. Merlo saw me promptly, explained my problem and outlined the treatment process.  He is a very skilled surgeon, compassionate and always considered my comfort and what was the best approach to resolve the issue.  Dr. Merlo was also accessible even after hours.  His surgical nurse, Stephanie, is wonderful as well as his other staff.  Definitely a Top Doc (5 stars) in my view.
